Over the past 10 years, platform tennis, or “paddle,” as it is affectionately referred to, has seen a fast rise in popularity in Western Pennsylvania. Combining elements of tennis, racquetball, and squash, paddle tennis is a great winter sport played on a heated court that is about one-third the size of a regulation tennis court. Longue Vue Club’s paddle season runs from September – March.
Played in doubles, paddle has a social atmosphere where the focus is largely on having a good time. The beauty of the game is that it gives you the ability get outside during the winter months. Longue Vue Club is proud to be involved in this fast growing sport and offers over 10 leagues to accommodate all skill levels.
The Longue Vue Club paddle facilities include three paddle courts with a paddle hut and offers members a variety of playing options including:
- Participation in eleven WPPA Leagues
- Private paddle lessons
- Social events
- Weekly Junior paddle clinics
